This position is for a Manufacturing Excellence Team Shift TST2. The shift MET technician will provide troubleshooting guidance to operations technicians, as well as take ownership of chronic upper level equipment issues relating to the Glassmaking-Core process. Attribute ownership and operations support will be initiated based on run metrics and established manufacturing targets. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Provide daily shift presence on the manufacturing floor in order to quickly recognize underperforming equipment. • Review production and quality metrics in order to accurately prescribe daily troubleshooting activities. • Attend production meetings and effectively communicate required troubleshooting. • Evaluate data and formulate assignable causes. • Prioritize daily required troubleshooting efforts based on business needs. Assist DAY MET and plant engineering with equipment conversions and installations. • Demonstrate ability to work independently or in teams to quickly determine why equipment is not meeting performance or uptime targets. • Complete repairs of all Core equipment based on a preventative maintenance schedule or due to unexpected equipment breakdown. • Reference machine spec and follow troubleshooting checklists, as well as perform higher level troubleshooting. • Drive to continuously improve effectiveness of troubleshooting checklists through training or document changes. • Train operations technicians on equipment troubleshooting processes and best practices. Applicant Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: Required Skills • Must be a currently certified TST • Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, & Outlook. • Experience reading and interpreting Dashboard and PI data. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to train other personnel. • Process and data analysis understanding. • Strong electrical / mechanical background. • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and weigh against business needs. • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and implement changes to systems from “red lines” • Experience identifying and resolving problems real-time. • Attention to detail when working with sensitive components and placing a high priority on the condition of parts and assemblies at all times. • Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment.
