Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Position:

Responsible for promoting an environmentally safe and healthy work environment for all employees throughout the manufacturing facility and to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations. Analyze key performance metrics and facilitate and convey Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. 

 

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

•    1-2 Years of experience within an Environmental Health Safety Role
•    2-year Technical Degree or equivalent experience
•    MS Office computer skills as required for data collection and display. 

 

Desired Skills:

•    Understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental & 45001 Management System

•    Corning Experience

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

•    Lead or facilitate root cause analysis when near misses, injuries, illnesses or non-compliance events/situations occur.

•    Participate, as a team member, in regulatory, corporate or facility safety and health inspections and investigations.

•    Participate on the Safety Committee and Ergonomic Team.
•    Maintain backup database of all Concord incidents in Gensuite system.

The range for this position is  $55,368.00   -  $76,131.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
