Fiber Making Mechanical Maintenance Shift Technician

 

Role Description:

 

Works hands-on with manufacturing equipment (mechanical, <50V electrical, pneumatic systems) to provide troubleshooting support for front-line operations and production equipment. Supports Operations and Engineering with hands-on troubleshooting relating to equipment and process performance troubleshooting identified by Operations, Technician, and Engineering teams. Uses sound manufacturing troubleshooting judgment, experience, and initiative to effectively resolve problems, make recommendations for next steps, and execute to plan. 

 

Key Responsibilities


•    Production support for throughput, safety, or quality-related issues.  
•    Troubleshooting equipment and process-related issues impacting production outputs, starting from documented troubleshooting checklist information.  
•    Executes corrective maintenance of manufacturing systems 
•    Facilitates the sharing of learning’s across shifts and across product lines.
•    Trains and coaches other technicians and operators on proper processes and procedures learned/identified from technical experts in the department.
•    Provides feedback and input to support new process / product development transfer to the plant manufacturing organization
•    Identifies and supports process improvements, utilizing lean tools to reduce downtime, increase yield, reduce cost, and maintain and improve quality.
•    Communicates effectively with a variety of work groups including operations, technician team, engineering, and leadership to provide the appropriate level of information to aid in further decision making. 
•    Documents all work thoroughly via plant maintenance system (Maximo) and shift documentation.
•    Assures and helps enforce that all safety procedures are followed at all times.

Required Skills: 


1.    3 years technical experience
2.    Mechanically inclined, ability to use hand tools. 
3.    Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.
4.    Ability to follow troubleshooting checklist and document work. 
5.    Ability to learn and utilize computer software for problem solving.
6.    Good written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented).

 

Desired Functional / Technical Skills:


•    Displays interest and drive to understand technical problems.
•    Technical curiosity; willing and interested in pursuing formal education (degree or certificate) in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, controls, or related discipline

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:


•    12 hours rotating shifts

 

The range for this position is ​$26.00 hourly rate - $30.00 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
