Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Are you ready to take on a critical leadership role in a 24/7 manufacturing environment? As an Operations Shift Supervisor, you'll be the driving force behind safety, quality, and productivity at the world’s largest manufacturing facility for Single Mode Optical Fiber. This is your opportunity to champion best practices, lead by example, and inspire a dedicated team toward operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and enforce established guidelines, procedures, and policies.

  • Supervise and facilitate the work of Production Associates, Floor Leaders, and Level 1 Troubleshooters.

  • Provide immediate guidance and feedback to employees to ensure successful execution of operations.

  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations, mentoring team members as needed.

  • Ensure adherence to documented operating procedures and established process controls.

  • Coordinate daily activities and liaise with support organizations to optimize workflow.

  • Implement and monitor training and certification plans.

  • Protect Corning's Intellectual Property (IP) and ensure compliance with document control protocols.

  • Monitor and report individual and team performance to the supervisory chain.

 

Schedule:

  • The DuPont Shift Rotation: 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights, including weekends and holidays.

 

Travel:  Minimal (<5%).

 

Required Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred) with 2+ years of Manufacturing experience - OR –
  • 4+ years in progressive manufacturing leadership roles if Bachelor’s Degree not attained.

The range for this position is $79,166.00 - $108,854.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
