Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Perform fiber screening for SQA and experimentation
- Perform measurements (Optical, IFA)
- Perform fiber inspection
- Perform Production Cure testing
- Support Production BSA
- Support incoming inspection of production items: ballast plugs, Talon handles, integral handles, bait rods, tip plugs, spools, etc.
- Report and quarantine non-conforming ware
- Writes or updates documentation relevant to job or department activities.
- Performs data entry for pertinent department or equipment information.
- Performs audits on data or processes within defined work function.
- Performs first level troubleshooting and maintenance as defined by area documentation
- Support quality/engineering/operations project and experimentation
Required Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Concord safety and documentation systems.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities while working in an irregular work environment with changing priorities and multiple tasks.
- Must have the ability to function independently with minimal supervision and with strong attention to detail and follow up/completion of assigned action items.
- Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and product specifications
- Occasionally lifts up to 50+ pounds.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
- Approach work with positive attitude.
- Motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude.
Preferred Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Experience with Fiber Processing screening, measurement, and inspection
Schedule:
- M-F Day Shift (Overtime may be required)

The range for this position is $22.00 hourly rate - $25.25 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
