Regional Strategic Sourcing Manager - MRO Parts

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: (role within group / projects within group) Provide comprehensive management for the MRO category, in support of business units (BU) requirements, to include:

 

• Identify and develop best-in-class value propositions for regional MRO Category Strategies.

• Lead supplier contract negotiations

• Scope, lead, participate, and implement stakeholder and BU driven projects.

• Collaborate with designated Subject Matter Experts, Project Leaders, Category Owners, and Strategic Sourcing Managers on assigned strategic sourcing management projects, incl. the preparation and solicitation of competitive bids, quotes, & proposals with pertinent specifications, terms & conditions that provides advantages to Corning Businesses.

• Manage eAuctions or other competitive bidding process in alignment with Global Objectives

• Experienced with digital tools and their usage (Power BI, Risk Methods, Elementum, Digital Marketplace, etc.)

• Own, maintain & develop comprehensive portfolio covering current & future cost-optimizing opportunities.

• Develop & ensure procurement risk mitigation plan for overall portfolio in alignment with stakeholder requirements.

• Manage Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and lead Quarterly Business Reviews monitoring both commercial & operational performances, benchmarked against SRM metrics.

• Develop supplier network in response to global capacities (incl. emerging markets);

• Consolidate and manage harmonized regional spend analytics.

• Lead the critical analysis of global supply intelligence reports for assigned commodities (incl. relevant trade market intelligence reports, commodity price indices, up/down stream petrochemical market cycles, global market trends, and geopolitical factors) to then develop and communicate, to stakeholders, fact-supported accurate should-cost modelling, competitive-cost sourcing, forecasting reports.

• Identify key stakeholders within the value-chain, including strategic consortium partners, and develop leveraged spend opportunities.

• Observe regulatory compliance requirements (incl. documentary), and monitor and advise potential impacts to BU of new and emerging legislations.

• Develop, maintain and execute Shared Objectives and Service Level Agreements.

• Champion and advocate compliance to the Corning Global Buying Policy.

• Communicate positively and constructively with team members locally and globally.

 

Scope of Position: Reporting directly to Global Category Director, MRO within the Global Supply Management organization, this role will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement activities for the MRO Parts category covering the NA region, lead and support selected global initiatives, as well as manage the related global portfolio activities.

 

The successful incumbent will have extensive category management (direct/indirect materials), exposure to leading cost country sourcing, supplier management, strategic sourcing, category strategy development, technical capability, manufacturing understanding, a high degree of business acumen, able to leverage opportunity with risk mitigation, while remaining longsighted and patient.

 

The role will work closely with a wide internal customer base as well as other functional Corporate Centers of Excellence in order to identify business and operational priorities and ensure alignment with business’ functional strategies. In many cases these activities will be performed as part of a cross-functional team, but the incumbent is expected to lead the process and be responsible for implementing solutions.

8. Familiarity with e-solutions in professional services area and the use of e-auctions;

9. Managerial and leadership experience. Masters or MBA preferred.
