Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.



 • Responsible for the administration and maintenance of all data and workflow processes related to the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

 • Responsible for determination and tracking of all reliability performance metrics.

 • Evaluates, from a reliability standpoint, the components, properties, tools, and techniques used in operations.

 • Determines reliability requirements of components and systems.

 • Develops new techniques and analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with new products, packaging, and processes.

 • Responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance procedures of equipment.


 • Optimization of Preventive Maintenance in all areas of the plant. Including but not limited to development of PM schedule and criteria, as well as responsible for PM compliance.

 • Provide data analysis on equipment failures and MTBF.

 • Develop and track meaningful Metrics to track Reliability, such as PM compliance, MTBF, PM/CM effectiveness as well as other division KPIs.

 • Evaluate run conditions and provide suggestions for improving equipment life.

 • Develop concise and accurate documentation on troubleshooting steps and corrective actions

 • Recommend improvements to process/equipment and drive equipment robustness

 • Identify chronic issues and recommend corrective actions

 • Work with Techs to drive equipment/process standardization and continuous improvements


 • BS in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or equivalent engineering work experience.

 • 2+ years in Manufacturing environment


 • Strong engineering and troubleshooting skills

 • Technical skills and aptitude

 • Ability to handle multiple tasks and issues effectively

 • Directive and autonomous

 • Decision making and prioritization

 • Communication skills

 • Ability to work within a team and provide training to others


 • Experience with CMMS specifically Maximo

 • Six Sigma Certification

 • DMAIC Project experience

• Experience with maintenance procedures (Predictive, Preventative, Reactive)

 • Ability to communicate to multiple levels of an organization.
