Role Purpose
At Corning Global Security (CGS), our mission is to safeguard the people, property, and values of Corning Incorporated. We are seeking a customer-focused professional to join our team, where the role's primary emphasis is on providing exceptional service while ensuring the security and well-being of employees, visitors, and company assets. As a CGS team member, you will play an integral role in fostering a safe and secure environment while maintaining a strong focus on assisting and supporting employees and visitors in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the CGS team, you will:
- Deliver Outstanding Customer Service: Serve as the first point of contact for Corning employees and visitors, addressing questions, concerns, and needs with professionalism and empathy.
- Respond to Emergencies: Provide prompt assistance in emergency situations such as fire, medical, and other hazardous incidents to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
- Maintain a Secure Environment: Conduct physical patrols, monitor alarms and cameras, and manage access control to uphold a safe and secure workplace.
- Communicate Effectively: Actively engage with employees and visitors via multiple avenues of communication, providing clear, timely, and accurate information.
- Document and Report Incidents: Maintain detailed records of daily activities and promptly report incidents to ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
- Support Site Activities: Offer security services for special events, projects, and other initiatives.
- Flexible Scheduling and Coverage: Work assigned shifts, adapt to various schedules, and provide support for unscheduled overtime as needed.
Work Shift
This is 3rd shift (Overnight): 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Monday - Friday)
Required Skills
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least two years of experience in a professional setting or customer service role.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to complete CPR and basic First Aid certifications with Corning’s support. -
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive interactions and experiences across a variety of functions within the company.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a professional environment.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, even under time-sensitive conditions.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently when necessary.
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities, particularly in dynamic situations.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all responsibilities.
- Proficiency in using computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and adaptability to new tools and systems.
- Physically capable of walking and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or; Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in security or related fields.
- Eligibility to obtain a state security guard license (where applicable) with Corning’s support.
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $38,726.00 - $53,248.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
