Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Location: Concord, NC Schedule: 12-hour Dupont rotating swing shift (14 days/month with a 7-day break) Compensation:

🎯 Role Purpose
We’re seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Shipping Manufacturing Tech to provide on-shift technical expertise for our manufacturing operations. You’ll be the go-to troubleshooter for second and third-level process and equipment issues, helping us meet production goals while driving long-term improvements.
🔧 Key Responsibilities

Provide technical influence and support during production shifts

Troubleshoot process and equipment issues to meet throughput and safety targets

Resolve chronic issues with robust control solutions
-
Document project outcomes and technical resolutions
-
Monitor area performance and follow issues through to closure
-
Manage multiple technical issues simultaneously using established standards

Support preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep
-
Guide maintenance personnel in equipment repair, testing, and debugging
-
Ensure compliance with certification programs, audits, and ISO14000 standards
-
Promote and enforce a safe, clean working environment
🎓 Required Qualifications
-
Associate degree in Mechatronics or related field OR High School diploma/GED with 4+ years of technical manufacturing experience and proven electrical systems capabilities

Skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
-
Familiarity with sensors, switches, motors, and actuators
-
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machine specs
-
Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements

The range for this position is $57,899.00 - $79,612.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
