Scope of Position: This position is responsible for managing and growing key and emerging accounts for Corning Pharmaceutical Technologies (CPT), supporting the achievement of the division’s sales and profit objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop key account strategies to manage the product life cycle and to grow and progress new products within the accounts
  • Execute key account plans, ensuring customer forecasts are properly integrated into demand and supply planning, and deliver per customer expectations
  • Possess and provide in-depth CPT product knowledge to address general technical inquiries from customer
  • Develop relationships with key decision makers, and build and strengthen these relationships to increase customer satisfaction, and ultimately maximize account penetration and customer retention
  • Provide leadership during price and contract negotiation, technical problem solving and operational escalations
  • Work actively with customer service, manufacturing, product line management, engineering, and development groups to represent customer viewpoint and identify win-win strategies 
  • Evaluate new business opportunities based on capability, market, financial, and strategic analysis.
  • Grow the business with a focus on biotech, gene therapy and branded therapeutics 
  • Manage all facets of responsibilities within the framework of Corning’s value

 

Travel Requirements: 25-50% domestically with possible international at times

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Monday-Friday, standard business hours with flexibility

Location: Will work from home office, with occasional travel to Corning offices in NY and NC

 

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required – business or science degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to gain deep technical understanding of products and markets
  • Work experience in a Commercial/Sales team environment or equivalent experience in customer-facing role managing external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships including working effectively with management and senior leadership.
  • Proven experience leading and executing change management within a team or organization.
  • Effective problem solver who can work with ambiguity but make sound business decisions

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Effective at listening to understand key concerns for internal / external customers
  • Strong communication skills to advance difficult negotiations
  • Understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry and manufacturing process, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Understanding of product claims impact to the pharmaceutical manufacturing process and the value they create.
  • Creates effective methods to distribute information and knowledge across customer organizations
  • Ability to see ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
  • Soft Skills:

    • Team player with solid skills in group decision making
    • Strong organizational and process management skills including the ability to prioritize (own work and those of team members) workload, meet deadlines
    • Strong, effective communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
