Scope/Purpose of Position:

As an Admin Intern at Corning, your role is crucial. You'll provide administrative and clerical support to individuals within our organization while also offering project support to our administrative team when necessary.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Process Paper Mail Daily
  • Summer BBQ Picnic Planning Committee
  • Assist Community Engagement group with Corning sponsored external events.
  • Patent Awards Planning Committee – help with proofing plaques.
  • Filing case folders in Patent Storage area when needed
  • Meeting prep and attend meetings.
  • Managing copiers/fax machines – checking paper supply
  • Admin support for a Director – with guidance from Lead Admin (calendaring, travel logistics, staff meeting prep, expense reports)

 

Projects:

  • Patent Proofing
    • Once a US application has issued into a granted patent, Corning compares the USPTO published patent with our internal documents to make sure everything on the US patent is correct and accurate.
  • Log Destroyed Files
    • Once the files are deemed to be destroyed, they are to be logged on the Destroyed File list and then logged on to the Master Iron Mt. list.
  • Reorganization of IP Patent Storage Area
    • Reorganize files in correct file drawers, all files will need to be removed from the drawers and refiled correctly, some files need to be purged and destroyed.

 

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in General Business or Business Administration
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location.

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
