Scope of Position

As an Administrative Intern at Corning, you will provide administrative and operational support while gaining hands-on experience in business processes, project coordination, and professional administrative practices. This role offers valuable exposure to corporate operations and the opportunity to develop skills essential for a successful career in administrative support.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in General Business or Business Administration
  • Professional presence with a high level of maturity, integrity, and accountability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and business processes.
  • Dependable, reliable, and responsive with a strong commitment to supporting business needs.
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Calendar & Schedule Management

  • Manage complex calendars, prioritize requests, coordinate meetings, and protect executive time.
  • Anticipate scheduling conflicts and propose solutions.

Travel Coordination

  • Arrange domestic and international travel, manage itineraries, handle changes, and ensure compliance with company processes.

Meeting Management

  • Coordinate meetings from start to finish, including agendas, materials, room reservations, logistics, notes, and follow-up actions.

Executive Support & Preparation

  • Gather, organize, and prepare information for leadership discussions, customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews.

Project & Process Management

  • Manage recurring processes, track deliverables, improve workflows, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.

Expense, Purchasing & Budget Support

  • Process expenses, manage purchase orders, coordinate vendors, and support budget-related activities.

Event Planning

  • Plan team meetings, recognition events, off-sites, leadership meetings, and employee engagement activities.

Communication & Relationship Management

  • Draft professional communications, serve as a liaison between leaders and stakeholders, and maintain strong internal networks.

Confidentiality & Business Stewardship

  • Handle sensitive information with discretion, maintain integrity, and represent leadership professionally.

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
