Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Forecasting Analyst is on the Gorilla Glass Commercial Forecasting Team. The role will be responsible for coordinating the in-month forecasting process, monitoring and reporting in-month business performance, leading the CBG forecasting and serving as the primary interface between the business organization and U.S. Supply Planning team. This role develops and maintains demand forecasts, identifies forecast risks and opportunities, and supports the creation of Short-Term Forecast (STF), Long-Term Forecast (LTF), and Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) inputs. The analyst provides actionable insights to enable effective production, inventory, and business planning decisions.
You will collaborate closely with Account Managers, Product Line Managers, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance. You will help translate the forecast to inform key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and consolidation of in-month demand forecast inputs as well as the CBG product line forecasts
- Coordinate forecast assumptions across commercial, product, finance, and operations teams.
- Validate forecast inputs for consistency, completeness, and alignment with business objectives.
- Maintain forecast models, assumptions, and supporting documentation
- Communicate forecast updates, changes, and key drivers to stakeholders
- Support the remainder of the forecast team’s deliverables including inputs for the STF, LTF, SIOP and MMR
- Act as the primary point of contact between the business team and U.S. Supply Planning.
- Translate commercial demand signals into actionable planning requirements.
- Support supply reviews by communicating demand changes, risks, and assumptions.
- Facilitate resolution of supply-demand gaps and inventory concerns.
- Ensure alignment between demand forecasts and supply planning strategies
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Experience with forecasting methods and comfortable using a suite of tools to prepare and analyze the forecasts
- Demonstrated rigor in documenting assumptions, drivers, and changes - version-controlled or auditable working files.
- Strong analytical skills - able to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw defensible conclusions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills - able to explain modeling choices to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- MBA or advanced analytical coursework is a plus.

The range for this position is $94,186.00 - $129,507.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
