Role Purpose

As an Assistant Product Line Manager (APLM), you will be responsible for leading specific glass products within the Gorilla Glass product portfolio to maximize profitability through the product life cycle. This includes engaging in decisions on defining what products to develop and offer, building value proposition and selling tools, assisting with forecasting, and serving as a key collaborate with the Gorilla Glass commercial, finance, manufacturing, quality and engineering organizations for day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate value propositions, product attributes, basis of competition and product trajectory; become an authority on downstream use of our products
  • Interpret customer needs and provide key input/decision for capacity planning through forecasting and demand management process
  • Work with sales organization to segment customer base and prioritize customer interactions at the product level
  • Help the GG team with product pricing strategies
  • Provide and maintain necessary sales tools such as positioning statement, value proposition presentation, and other sales tools to customer-facing organizations to ensure effective deployment of product line strategies
  • Work with the end market, forecast, engineering, and development teams to understand market trends, technologies and advanced products
  • Support the development of Gorilla Glass annual product line plans, Green Book (5-year plan) and Black Book (Budget)
  • Work with legal and sales teams to define contractual terms and participate in the approvals of the supply agreement process
  • Work with marketing communications to support development of external communications, including product collateral, tradeshow and conference materials, press releases, public relations, web communications and social media as appropriate
  • Collect the voice of customer regarding new products and services and product changes/upgrades
  • Provide internal training on new product offerings, product changes and product end-of-life planning
  • Interface and work in teams with people across functional and geographic boundaries


Travel Requirements: Up to 10% of time both within US and internationally

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field required. MBA or equivalent desired.
  • 3+ years of business or management experience
  • Approach problem-solving in an organized, process-oriented manner with systematic thinking and logic
  • Lead business relationships using combination of data driven analysis, critical thinking, networking and strong presentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, deftly and effectively in a dynamic working environment supporting the Mobile Consumer Electronics industry
  • Strong analytical abilities with able to turn quantitative analysis into significant business insights
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and work in teams with people across functional and geographic boundaries

The range for this position is  $97,472.00   -  $134,024.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
