Scope of Position: The corporate marketing communications organization at Corning Incorporated is focused on strengthening Corning’s brand and reputation globally. The organization is committed to delivering world-class communications, which are continually advanced through the sharing of best practices, the use of benchmarking and analytics, and ongoing professional development. We are looking for talented design or advertising students to join the organization as communications interns for the summer of 2023. Corning’s corporate marketing communications team is seeking a brand studio intern for the summer of 2023 to help further enhance Corning’s brand by designing collateral, developing creative campaigns, and visualizing conceptual content. The candidate for this position is required to be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or advertising going into their senior or junior year. Candidates may also be enrolled in a master’s program to which they will return in the Fall.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: In this role, the intern would provide support for the many projects the Brand Studio undertakes.

This work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Communications campaign conceptual development
  • External and Internal campaign creative development
  • Website creative
  • Social media creative
  • Employee and internal communications design
  • Brand evolution / template evolution
  • Poster & signage design
  • Presentation design
  • Photography services, including photo retouching

 

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 

  • June 2023 – August 2023
  • Monday – Friday, standard business hours.

 

Required Education:

  • The candidate is required to be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design (or similar field) or Advertising (or similar field) going into their senior or junior year. Candidates may also be enrolled in a master’s program to which they will return in the Fall.

 

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work comfortably across all levels of an organization
  • Ability to proficiently use Adobe Creative suite, specifically Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Microsoft programs PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Ability to handle many tasks, assess priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team as well as competency to work independently and lead agreed upon action plans with minimal supervision  
  • All candidates will be asked to show a portfolio of work.
