Role Purpose:

Develops and executes the business development strategy that supports new growth and opportunities to support of the exterior product line sales with the goal to grow share and meet the profitability targets of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Works closely with, or leads, a cross-functional business development team consisting of functional leads from Product Line Management, Development, Product Engineering, Applications Engineering, Manufacturing, Marketing and/or Sales to:

 

  • Develop the business development strategy to identify and target growth opportunities with support from the product line team.
  • Maintains current customer relationships as well as identifying potential customers
  • Contacting potential customers to develop relationships and sales
  • Developing new sales areas and improving sales through various methods
  • Researching trends and identifying new opportunities to increase sales
  • Collaborating with sales and account teams to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of exterior glass products and services, and innovating new ways to serve the businesses
  • Work with customers to understand their needs to build the foundation of the value proposition as well as determining market level pricing.
  • Create an intellectual property in support the product line.
  • Creates plan along with Product Line Management to ensure new products are received and executed upon.
  • May manage a portfolio of markets, in the case where the product line’s products hold different positions within the markets they reach.
  • Works with Product Line Management to determine the best mix for the market(s) through effective segmentation and portfolio rationalization.

 

Experiences/Education:

Required

o Demonstrated track record of managing various priorities and projects.

o Demonstrated track record of leading multi-functional teams.

o Work experience in a Commercial function.

o Bachelor’s Degree – technical degree preferred.

o MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (i.e., extensive experience in business).

 

Desired

o Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree – Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent experience.

o Experience managing people.

o Work experience in Manufacturing and/or Development.

o Financial analysis and accounting experience.

o Work experience in a Strategy group.

o International business work experience.

o Participation in, or leadership of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects.
