Role Purpose

The purpose of the Community Development Coordinator role is to support and strengthen youth civic engagement and community-based efforts by coordinating logistics, communications, and data tracking. A successful coordinator works diligently to empower student leaders to be change agents and help to foster an inclusive school community. Additionally, the coordinator partners with community organizations to address local issues and execute evidence-based, inclusive-driven solutions. The role ensures smooth planning and implementation of meetings, trainings, and forums, while maintaining strong partnerships with schools and community stakeholders. Through organization, documentation, and collaboration, the Coordinator helps amplify voices, monitor program outcomes, and contribute to positive living and learning environments locally, within Chemung and Steuben counties.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform scheduling, logistics, and materials preparation for meetings, trainings, and events

· Collect and enter program data; maintain trackers and compile routine reports using approved templates for manager review.

· Support pilot program activities by coordinating logistics and documenting feedback in standard formats; escalate observations to the manager.

· Maintain shared folders and documents; update content as directed while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.

· Coordinate routine communications with internal teams and external partners for scheduling and information sharing; route non-routine inquiries to the manager.

· Adhere to company policies and procedures; complete assigned tasks within prescribed time frames.

Experiences/Education - Required

· Bachelor’s degree in public administration, communications, education, social sciences or a closely related field

· In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate degree plus 2 additional years of directly relevant experience, or 2-4+ years of progressively responsible program/project coordination experience with community, education, nonprofit, or public-sector partners, may be considered.

· At least 2+ years of experience in program or project coordination, community partnerships, public administration, education partnerships, corporate citizenship, or a related field

· Basic knowledge of standard project coordination practices; able to apply established procedures and suggest workflow improvements within guidelines

· Data skills: collect and validate data; maintain basic dashboards; analyze trends; proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets

· Clear written and verbal communication; able to create concise briefs, agendas, status reports, and presentations using approved templates

· Meeting and small-group facilitation skills; able to manage logistics, capture notes, and drive action items to closure

· Planning and organization: builds task-level plans, and meets deadlines with minimal rework

· Ability to handle confidential information and comply with company policies, controls, and reporting requirements

· Local travel across Steuben and Chemung counties as needed

Experiences/Education - Desired

· Experience working with K–12 schools, nonprofits, or municipal/public-sector partners

· Event planning and on-site execution; vendor coordination and quality assurance

· Exposure to drafting scopes of work and supporting agreement reviews; basic understanding of contracting terms and partner selection criteria

· Experience supporting pilot projects and documenting lessons learned; contribution to scaling effective practices

The range for this position is $67,232.00 - $92,444.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
