Corning’s Compensation & Benefits Center of Excellence (COE) is looking for a Compensation Manager to support the Americas compensation team.


The primary focus of this role will be to provide U.S. compensation leadership and analytical compensation support to Corning's Compensation team and its HR and business customers.  The position is a critical member of the compensation team, with key lead roles in many strategically important programs (e.g., pay equity, sales compensation, etc.).  The position will ensure that:


  • COE programs/processes/policies support the attraction and retention of the number and type of talent required to execute corporate strategy 
  • COE programs/processes/policies establish and reinforce Corning Values and positive work environment, while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements 
  • COE key stakeholders fully understand the value, benefit, and use of COE programs/processes/policies. Ensures standards and guidelines are understood and consistently applied.
  • COE programs/processes/policies meet or beat quality and delivery expectations 
  • Financial decisions and recommendations support top quartile cost performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery
  • Compensation and benefit programs are aligned with Corning’s overall Total Reward philosophy and framework

Role Responsibilities:

  • Program manager and global lead of pay equity program and process
  • Global corporate sales incentive pay program manager, to include program management of annual President’s Sales Club & Circle program
  • Participates as a US salaried compensation representative on mergers and acquisition activities and other global projects as needed
  • Oversees the annual salary range build process for US salaried compensation, including salary survey participation and benchmarking
  • Proactively supports businesses and functions to address compensation needs and improves understanding of markets.
  • Provides ongoing consulting on Corning's compenesation strategy, offer support, retention, compensation philosophy and process training, etc.
  • Participates as the US salaried lead on annual compensation processes including variable compensation (Performance Incentive Program), Annual Salary Review, and Long-term Incentive Cash Programs.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Ideal candidates are HR Professionals with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree and HR certification is a plus, and past compensation management experience would be ideal.
  • Candidates should have excellent analytical and MS Excel skills, proven project management ability, with good consulting, influencing, and collaboration skills. 


Location and Travel:

  • Preferred is site based at Corning Headquarters in Corning, NY, but open to remote-based candidates who will be required to travel to Corning 1 week per month.
