Contract manufacturing service at Supply Management Services Company (SMSC) provides strategic value to Global Supply Management (GSM) and Corning businesses. The service strives to deliver a complete and flexible outsourcing service to Corning businesses, covering make/buy analysis, contract manufacturer sourcing, contract manufacturer on-boarding, and operation management. Corning businesses could utilize the services to achieve their business objectives, minimize capital investment needed to alleviate capacity constraints, faster speed-to-market, and improved customer responsiveness. In addition, the service helps to manage the contract manufacturer’s compliance to the required regulations. Reporting to Global Contract Manufacturing Service Leader, the incumbent key responsibility is to provide Contract Manufacturing service support in North America and potentially EMEA. This role is instrumental in helping the Global Contract Manufacturing Service Lead develop the long-term strategy for Contract Manufacturing Operations in North America and be expected to be a key person in the implementation and ongoing development of the N.A. CM Operations team. Besides, the incumbent is also expected to drive and contribute to the supply chain excellence in contract manufacturing operation and delivering business objectives. As part of the Global Contract Manufacturing Service management team, the incumbent will also be contributing to designing and deploying of the global contract manufacturing service strategy, enhancing the service framework, system & tools, ensuring alignment with the GSM and SMSC business strategies.



• Act as regional leader for external manufacturing supplier identification, development, management with regional service providers as required by Corning’s business units.

• Define and manage the service roadmap in terms of people, process, and technology, as assigned

• Key leader for expanding the capability to provide external manufacturing support from supplier identification, development, management as required by the business.

• Execute global contract manufacturing service strategy by implementing and enhancing the sourcing, on-boarding and operation management services

• Support Global Contract Manufacturing Service Leader to develop contract manufacturing project portfolio and deliver project goals and objectives

• Support and drive year over year business revenue growth and cost reduction target as assigned

• Develop and implement operating plans that meet key performance objectives

• Conduct strategic reviews on existing and future potential manufacturing requirements in assigned region, including high-level assessment of opportunities to utilize external manufacturing or asset lean product production in Corning’s value chains

• In conjunction with GSM global resources - identify tools and processes required to support external manufacturing in the region.



I. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

• B.S degree in mechanical engineering or business discipline, ideally MBA.

• 10+ years’ experience in implementing and managing contract manufacturing operations, preferably in life science, electronics, or highly engineered product environment

• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations with demonstrated experience of problem solving and leadership

• Ability to lead difficult negotiations and develop win-win solutions for Corning and suppliers.

• Technical sourcing or engineering experience preferred

• Good knowledge of contracting and purchasing terms and conditions

• Ability to manage varied and demanding workload across multiple businesses and time zones

• Strong knowledge of supply chain operations with demonstrated experience of problem solving, decision making and project management skills

• Worked in a multi-cultural, multinational environment preferably with overseas travel or extended work period

• Experienced in leading supply chain excellence projects, supply chain transformation initiatives or digitalization projects is definitely a plus
