Role Purpose
This position is within Devices and Systems Capability group. The intern will support studies related to the use of glass as a microelectronics packaging substrate, focusing on material mechanics and reliability issues. Work will support some S&T projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Experimental measurements to understand stress and strain behavior of multicomponent systems
- Build fundamental understanding of material property from composition and process.
- Document the results of the research by the end of the summer and give a final presentation.
- Learn new techniques and methods as needed to support the project objectives.
- Data analytics, carry out simulations, summarize, and communicate data.
- Perform literature search and implement findings

Experiences/Education - Required
- PhD Candidate preferred.
- Minimum requirement- B.SC candidate (rising senior)
- Strong material mechanics understanding
- Analytical and experimental understanding of thermo-mechanical issues
- Good written and presentation skills
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Finite element analysis capability
- Good presentation and writing skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well within a team

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
