Purpose of Position:

The Digital Team at Corporate Communications in Corning, NY supports work for the corning.com platform. This department is responsible for Corning’s digital presence across multiple platforms. The digital intern will put their knowledge into practice by working alongside key members of the digital team and in support of the marketing communications projects.

They will learn and develop essential digital marketing skills including:

• Website design and development (CMS)

• Technical site audits

• Search driven content planning and optimization

• Social listening and analytics

• Social media marketing

• Content development

Responsibilities:

• Work with marketing communications managers to provide digital analytics and PPC best practices

• Prepare biweekly site audits and reporting analysis to maintain site relevancy. Identify areas for improvement in reporting

• Work alongside the digital and content teams to develop cross platform content strategies. Identify opportunities and propose approach for executing design in CMS and on social platforms.

• Participate in team and department meetings, and prepare presentations on activities as appropriate (Will include a department presentation at the conclusion of the internship)

• Support additional Corporate Communications projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Students entering senior year of undergraduate degree program in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field desired; Students entering junior year will be considered.

Required Skills:

• Understanding of digital media, including experience with social media and search engines

• Understanding of basic marketing principles

• Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines

• Strong written and oral communication skills for digital and social channels

• Strong editing skills

• Ability to work in a group environment as well as individually

• Strong usage of Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS) Adobe Experience Manager

• Proficiency with digital communications channels, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube

• Experience with and knowledge of analytics dashboards (Google Analytics) and data analysis

• Knowledge of UI and SharePoint development

• Strong people and communication skills

• Ability to take technical topics and simplify into digestible content for a variety of audiences
