Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and edit internal and external communications for: Strategic narrative and executive / thought leadership priorities, including: speeches, presentations, video/audio scripts, etc.; Corning social media content; Corning.com content; Corning World news stories and features
  • Communications targeted at key Corning stakeholders, such as media, influencers, investors, and employees – including news releases, key-messaging documents, articles, etc.
  • Provide primary communications support to two members of Management Committee
  • Provide editorial support for Corporate Communications programs and initiatives
  • Plan and develop video and other multimedia storylines and content as needed
  • Act as strong contributor to Corporate Communications editorial team
  • Maintain Corning Style Guide
  • Interact with executive leadership, businesses, and communications colleagues to understand priorities, objectives, and key messages to inform writing
  • Plan and execute communications strategy for key initiatives
  • Understand global audience segments and oversee effective use of communications channels to reach targeted groups
  • Present strategy, plan, tactics, and rationale to leadership and colleagues as needed
  • Build, strengthen, and protect Corning’s reputation globally, and with all audience
  • Support Corporate Communications projects as needed
  • Work with vendors as needed for project support

 

Required Skills:

  • Strong writing and editing abilities, including proficiency in Associated Press style
  • Excellent verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with / aptitude for financial and other corporate strategy communications
  • Poise and professionalism to interact effectively with senior leaders
  • Ability to lead, organize, and prioritize
  • Confident advocate of new ideas
  • Strong project management experience
  • Capable of working independently and as part of matrixed teams
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with basic web content management programs
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other businesses and divisions

Travel: Less than 5%

 

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or other related field required.

Minimum five years of communications experience, preferably in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or communications-related field.
