Role Purpose

We are seeking a Metrology Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Metrology Systems Engineer you will be involved in designing, testing, and maintaining glass stress metrology systems. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and performance of our metrology systems. This individual will be responsible for system integration and test, software QA testing, hardware and optics testing, GRRs, web design for metrology dashboards and databases, and IT/network integration into our systems. The position involves a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving, and communication skills to support cross-functional teams in engineering, science, and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate and test metrology systems and tools.
  • Perform system QA and GRRs to ensure overall integrity of the hardware and software.
  • Perform system calibrations, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades.
  • Perform software QA testing and report bugs to software team.
  • Design web interfaces for metrology dashboards, portals, and databases.
  • Design and perform CAD/3D printing for the rapid prototyping of parts, fixtures, and tools to enhance system functionality and testing.
  • Analyze business and user needs to identify opportunities for hardware and software improvements.
  • Provide training and technical support to engineers, scientists and technicians.

Experiences/Education/Skills - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related field OR 3+ years of work experience in Engineering, IT, software development or related technical fields.
  • Lab experience with maintaining optical instruments
  • 1-2 years IT experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experiences/Education/Skills - Desired

  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading metrology systems.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex systems to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with software QA and bug tracking tools.
  • Strong IT experience, including system integration and support.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and 3D printing for rapid prototyping.
  • Web design experience, including creating user interfaces and improving user experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

 

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

The range for this position is $66,310.00 - $91,176.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
