Job Scope

Provides administrative support to the Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, while coordinating DE&I activities related to employee resource groups, external recognition opportunities, and communications efforts.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

Administrative

  • Manage all aspects of calendar, phone and travel for the VP and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion officer and other DEI office staff as needed

  • Manage complex travel arrangements (both domestic and international) and proactively stays ahead of changes

  • Interface directly with internal and external executive leaders and their executive assistants

  • Handles details of items that are highly confidential

  • Initiate and manage purchase order processes and procedures (includes tracking spending for sponsorships, diversity recruiting, and memberships)

  • Provide back up support for other senior level admin as needed

  • Coordinate any offsite meetings/events, recognition, team building

  • Maintain department SharePoint sites and other file sharing systems

  • Act as a liaison between vendors and Global Supply Management

  • Seeks supervisory direction for issues crossing into other functional areas or with broad impacts

 

DE&I Coordination

  • Acts as an information source on DE&I related organizational policies and procedures

  • Manages the Diversity mailbox and the global Diversity Network distribution lists including sending broadcast email communications to ERG members and allies

  • Oversees the execution of Employee Resource Groups including managing the process for creating new groups or chapters, coordinating ERG leader training, tracking budget impacts, and onboarding executive sponsors

  • Prepares and completes diversity related survey requests and award submissions in collaboration with various internal subject matter experts

  • Supports DE&I office annual processes and publications (e.g., DEI Annual Report) by collecting needed information

 

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, detail oriented and anticipates corporate officer’s needs.  

  • Well networked within Corning, leads by example, looks for new ideas and bases decisions on the DE&I office needs

  • Able to manage self on routine work and set schedule to meet completion dates for special assignments. 

  • Knows when to seek supervisory direction for issues crossing into other functional areas or with broad impacts

  • Stays current on trends and is willing to adapt to new technology (Teams/WebEx/Office365) and required processes.  

 

Required Years & Area of Experience:

  • 5-8 years of experience in administrative roles

  • Experience with Employee Resource Groups (desired)

 

Required Education:

  • Associates degree

 

Location and Travel Requirements:

  • Corning, NY headquarters or Charlotte, NC (if Charlotte, minimal travel to Corning, NY as needed)
