Role Purpose

The Senior Manager, Foreign Exchange operates under the supervision of the Manager, Foreign Exchange and manages Corning’s day-to-day global foreign currency (FX) activities and hedging programs. The role provides transaction execution and other support to stakeholders and team members within the Corning group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine business unit currency risks and identify, design, and implement appropriate hedging solutions.
  • Work extensively with approved financial institutions to monitor global FX market conditions, develop hedging structures aligned with business unit objectives, and execute hedging transactions on behalf of business units.
  • Communicate with senior management to obtain approvals for hedge transactions and provide updates on global hedging activity, including potential economic and financial statement impacts.
  • Educate and train business unit and corporate management, staff, and company auditors on foreign exchange concepts and their application within Corning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, processes, and procedures required to manage FX activities and risk.
  • Develop and apply financial models using Excel or similar software.

Experiences/Education - Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong preference for a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • CFA, CTP, or CPA certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance function
  • Functional understanding of PeopleSoft and/or SAP systems
  • Prior corporate treasury or banking experience, particularly in Foreign Exchange, is highly desirable
  • Ability to learn and understand FX markets and corporate hedging instruments
  • Knowledge of hedge accounting requirements related to FX activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interest in Treasury and global financial markets
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities

The range for this position is $188,274.00 - $258,877.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
