Overview of Finance Development Program

Corning’s summer internship experience is rich with hands-on learning. You’ll live, work, and experience the communities in which Corning operates, while building on-the-job skills. Interns are expected to deliver results against our business and financial objectives, applying knowledge and practices both independently and as a team. Working with a supervisor, you will gain work experience while interacting with key technologies, subject matter experts and leaders. The purpose of the Finance Intern Program is to raise the bar on talent by strengthening our pipeline for entry level roles for immediate and future needs.

Position Qualifications

General Requirements:

• Mobility desirable

Required Years and Area of Experience:

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in: Accounting, Economics, and/or Finance or equivalent
• Working towards a Master’s degree in related area not required but desirable
• Certifications desirable (e.g. CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.)
• Six Sigma Green belt/Black belt certification – a plus

Technical Skills:

• Data analytics software experience (ACL, IDEA, etc.) desired
• PeopleSoft and/or SAP experience desired
• Cost accounting/manufacturing experience desired
• Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint required
• Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge required

Qualifications:

• General cost and accounting knowledge
• Experience in a Finance/ Accounting with class or internship experience
• Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized
• Excellent communication (including presentation) skills

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
