Our Global Manufacturing Controller will provide leadership, cost insight and analysis, and deep business understanding to our business partners at the highest level of the organization. At the same time, they will elevate the broader Finance function’s manufacturing / cost knowledge and capabilities to enable the Finance strategy, goals, and objectives.
As a Global Manufacturing Controller, you will:
- Lead cost excellence programs that aim to institutionalize cost focus across the globe with standardized metrics and benchmarking to determine optimal performance
- Monitors key company-wide manufacturing performance metrics (cost reduction, competitive cost tracking, supply chain costs, cost of quality etc.)
- Develop understanding of cost drivers and metrics for all 5 MAPs to be able to articulate the overall cost drivers for the company
- Be an exceptional business partner to provide financial insight and recommended actions to manufacturing partners to drive for continuous improvement
- Engage directly with businesses and team up to tackle complex cost issues, identify root causes of problems, and develop effective solutions
- Prepare and present global cost performance and initiatives during the Corporate Operations Review (COR) meeting to the COO and staff
- Work with Gemini and Capricorn programs to drive for inventory optimization & capital efficiency
- Lead the Finance Manufacturing Excellence Council (FinMEC) comprised of Division’s Manufacturing Controllers to drive key initiatives in support of the overall Manufacturing Excellence Council
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the finance organization and meet quarterly with the Plant Controller community to drive alignment / understanding of key manufacturing / cost topics
- Develop & deliver training to the finance function to broaden cost accounting / understanding skills and to the operations groups (Operations Managers, Engineering Managers, Plant Managers, etc.) to increase their knowledge of financial topics including cost, gross margin drivers, etc.
- Responsible for the Global Manufacturing, Quality, & Safety department spending including all its various programs and leading the budget/forecast process for the group
Key capabilities for this role include:
- Deep understanding of manufacturing principles and cost accounting practices preferably in a Corning facility.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to influence decisions through analytics and delivery of messaging
- Experience optimizing processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Demonstrate strategic thinking; the ability to look ahead, identify issues, and take appropriate action
- Able to manage through ambiguity and perform in a fast-paced environment, proven ability to embrace and drive change, and ability to test decisions and provide alternative recommendations
- Demonstrated ability to manage strong networks and relationships with other Finance teams, identifying strategic contacts and resources within the Finance organization
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent technical degree required
- MBA/CPA Preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience required with at least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience engaging with and delivering presentations to senior management (up to MC members), facilitating decisions on key strategic initiatives
- Experience serving as point of contact with senior leaders to resolve and advise on ambiguous and unstructured senior management requests, identifying future implications of analysis
- Experience establishing and optimizing reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Longview (Khalix) planning & reporting tool or similar, and visualization tools (Power BI, etc.) preferred

The range for this position is $156,417.00 - $215,074.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
