Role Purpose
The Food Services Operational Excellence Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of third-party food service providers, ensuring high quality service delivery, contractual compliance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with organizational standards. This role audits vendor performance and partners with internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional hospitality experience for employees and guests.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the point of contact for all food service vendors, including catering, café operations, micro-markets, and vending partners.
· Monitor, evaluate, and report vendor performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations.
· Participate in business reviews and assist with performance-improvement initiatives.
· Handle escalations related to service quality, food safety, equipment issues, and operational concerns.
· Foster relationships between food service vendor and site key stakeholders.
· Serve as point of contact for food service vendor safety and security.
· Project management, support opening, closing, and transitions.
· Equipment management.
· Review invoicing, financial statements, subsidies, and operational budgets to ensure accuracy and cost control.
· Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality.
· Ensure food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance across all vendor-operated locations.
· Collaborate with facilities, HR, EHS, and supply chain teams to support smooth operations.
· Support menu planning reviews, pricing changes, equipment needs, and service innovations.
· Evaluate customer feedback trends and partner with vendors to improve satisfaction.
· Develop and support engagement programs such as promotions, wellness initiatives, seasonal menus, and special events.
· Ensure vendors deliver consistent brand experience aligned with organizational culture.
· Support Financial Analysis & Systems Coordinator with sales data, foot traffic, complaint trends, and operating reports to drive insights.
· Prepare monthly/quarterly performance summaries for leadership.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality, sustainability, and efficiency.
Experiences/Education - Required
· Bachelor’s degree required; Business, Hospitality Management, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
· 3–7+ years of experience in vendor management, food service operations, procurement, or hospitality management.
· Knowledge of food safety standards (ServSafe certification a plus).
· Ability to analyze financial data, budgets, and KPIs.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
· Project management or continuous improvement experience
· Customer-focused mindset
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Experiences/Education - Desired
· Experience with contract negotiations or managing external partners is highly preferred.
· Strong vendor relationship management and negotiation skills.
· Collaborative and able to influence without authority
· Agile and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
· Strategic thinker with operational execution skills
Travel Requirements:
· Corporate or campus environment with regular visits to dining or vending areas.
· Majority of time spent within the Corning Valley with 20-30% of occasional travel between other Corning sites or to vendor facilities.
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:
· May require early hours or occasional after-hours support during events or service disruptions.

The range for this position is $73,054.00 - $100,449.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
