Position Scope:

  • Corning Incorporated is seeking students actively enrolled in ILR or HR Master’s degree programs to assume intern roles in the Human Resource Function.  
  • The internship opportunities could be located in Corning, New York or North Carolina for the summer months
  • The selected individuals will have the opportunity to work with Human Resource Directors/Managers in one of our business divisions (described in the above paragraph). 
  • The interns will gain exposure to strategies, policies and processes within the HR function and potentially to one of the businesses within Corning. 
  • Specific project work will entail partnering with HR and Business leaders in one of the following areas, including but not limited to: Talent Management, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Legal/ER, Diversity Management, etc. This would provide the opportunity for you to apply your knowledge gained in your degree program. A fair amount of analysis and formal presentations of work product will be required.

Preferred background/experience

  • Master’s level student (completing 1st year ) in ILR/HRM degree program
  • Successful track record of performance in an HR/business role
  • 2-3 years of prior work experience, including HR related work or a minimum of one HR focused internship experience
  • Global experience a plus 


Successful completion of the internship may lead to future internships and/or full time opportunity in the HR Leadership Development Program (HRLDP).
