The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

Role Purpose
The HR Specialist, Supply Chain administers HR programs, processes, and policies while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Acting as the primary HR interface for assigned client groups, this role provides proactive support for onboarding, exits, leave administration, talent acquisition, HR data management, and organizational communications. This role drives operational efficiency by recommending process improvements, supporting early career initiatives, and ensuring HR standards and guidelines are consistently applied.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively deploys hiring process for hourly workers and temporary employees
- Educates plant leadership on union contracts and local and state employment law to ensure compliance with contracts and applicable personnel management laws
- Manages and mitigates employee grievances by ensuring supervisors and leadership are creating an open forum for discussion and resolution of plant issues
- Coaches and counsels plant management in development and demonstration of leadership and management practices required to establish and maintain a positive work environment
- Resolves employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner that protects the needs of the plant to operate in an effective and efficient manner
- Educates plant employees on shared service and third party vendor capabilities to increase use and benefits of these services
- Takes ownership for specific HR initiatives that support the effective operations of the organization by developing and/or delivering HR programs (e.g., attendance tracking, training, communications)
- Tracks and documents employment issues and requests (e.g., FMLA,workers compensation) as required for procedural and legislative purposes
- Identifies employee value proposition issues affecting turnover and works with Plant HR Manager to identify actions for improvement
- Establishes and maintains a presence on the plant floor to keep a read on the pulse of the organization
- Implements appropriate risk management policies and procedures to ensure plant compliance with safety requirements and local, state, and federal employment laws
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in HR and/or administrative roles
- Proficiency in Excel is required, with analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information confidentially with high attention to detail.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Familiarity with HR systems such as PeopleSoft, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of HR policies, processes, and procedures.
- Proven track record in HR or business process administration, including recruiting and early career program support.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
The range for this position is $60,410.00 - $83,065.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
