Scope of the Position: The HR Specialist, Technology Community Talent Development supports the Technology Community Human Resources Team including Research, Development, MT&E and Admin/Ops. The candidate selected for this position will be exposed to multiple project-based experiences that will increase professional growth and skill building towards a future HR generalist opportunity. Initial emphasis will be placed on owning, executing, and improving existing talent growth and development processes while providing direct support to the Technology Community HR talent specialist to develop the i-Learn@S&T learning platform. Coordination and connection of related ongoing activities and stakeholders will be key to success.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leadership on identification and implementation of talent planning actions through the creation of employee development opportunities and experiences to support employee satisfaction, growth, and retention.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, Technology Community HRMs and the talent acquisition organization to execute talent growth and development related initiatives.
  • Support the management and execution of the Technology Community technical promotion processes
  • Lead the internship and co-op annual processes in partnership with Technology HRMs and our Talent Acquisition partners.
  • Own the onboarding process for the Technology community. Execute ongoing process for new hires and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Centralize all learning related information for the Technology community including training records, nomination for leadership programs, identification of individual opportunities and stakeholder requests for information.
  • Partner with the Technology community Training specialist to support the design, curation, and creation of content for the iLearn@S&T platform.
  • Play a key role in prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion related to availability of employee development opportunities.


Required Education and Years of Experience:

  • BS or MS degree in Business, Human Resources, Industrial & Labor Relations or related area and/or HR certifications (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources related activities.


Required Skills:

  • Basic Project management skills and practices, demonstrates process orientation
  • Proactive. Passionate with good curiosity
  • Balance multiple priorities- able to juggle multiple programs and employee needs
  • Strong computer skills and analytical skill set, must be tech savvy and be able to build and manipulate excel spreadsheets, have experience with communicating through PowerPoint presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with client groups and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable proposals.
  • Demonstrated experience in situations where results had to be obtained through influencing and collaboration. Strong partnership mindset


Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience in training content creation and management a plus.
  • Previous HR experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
