Scope of the Position:
Provide program leadership over the health and wellbeing vendors and services for active employees, retirees and dependents. Partner with global Total Rewards team to insure deliver best in class services.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Corning’s Health and Welfare benefit plans
- Consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects to ensure that benefits plans, and practices are compliant with current legislation.
- Supports management’s decision-making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs.
- Identifies benefit options by studying programs and obtaining advice from consultants.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements.
- Manages benefits staff by coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees.
- Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as directed.
Education and Qualifications
- BA or BS Degree in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or related fields
- 10 years of benefits work experience
- Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail, demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong project management skills including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive
Desired skills
- Proven relationship management skills - must gain cooperation and acceptance/approval in resolving problems, and/or negotiating with other stakeholders to arrive at an agreement
- Strong writing and presentation skills for a variety of audiences
- Ability to synthesize a variety of data to produce a cohesive and well-documented product
- Proven knowledge of project management principles and approach
- Demonstrated ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses and to communicate these to a variety of audiences

The range for this position is $124,078 - $170,607.80. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
