Overview
The global Human Resource (HR) Function at Corning attracts and empowers an agile workforce to win today and invent Tomorrow. Reinforce your education through practical, hands-on work experience through an internship at Corning Incorporated. Contribute ideas and develop knowledge, leadership and communications abilities, while interacting and collaborating with top professionals in your field. Outside of work, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in activities that will expose you to area highlights, mentors, managers and other interns – all encouraging interaction between Corning peers.
Our internship roles serve as a pipeline to Corning’s HR Leadership Development Program (HRLDP). The HRLDP program is a special initiative focused on developing the company's future HR leaders through a three-year program.
Position Scope
- Corning Incorporated is seeking students actively enrolled in ILR, and HR majors to assume intern roles in the Human Resource Function.
- The selected individuals will have the opportunity to work with Human Resource Directors/Managers in one of our business divisions or Centers of Excellences (COEs)
- The interns will gain exposure to strategies, policies and processes within the HR function
- Specific project work will entail partnering with HR and Business leaders in one of the following areas, including but not limited to: Talent Management, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Legal/ER, Diversity Management, etc. This would provide the opportunity for you to apply your knowledge gained in your education program. A fair amount of analysis and formal presentations of work product will be required.

- Industrial and Labor Relations Courses
- Human Resource Courses
- Employment Law Courses
- Statistics and Accounting classes preferred
Preferred background/experience
- Sophomore, Junior or Master’s level (completing 1st year ) in Industrial Labor Relations/Human Resource Management
- Prior HR related work

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
