The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Job Summary: The IT Governance and Reporting Lead ensures the effective implementation of data governance policies within IT domains. This role serves as the connection between enterprise governance and operational data users, working closely with business units to enforce data standards, quality, and compliance, supporting a federated data governance model. This role will provide strategic insights through data-driven reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain enterprise data governance policies within IT, as defined by the Enterprise Data Steward.
  • Adopt and enforce data quality standards, ensuring data is accurate, complete, and secure within their domain.
  • Monitor and proactively improve data quality, lineage, and security compliance, and report on performance metrics to the Enterprise Data Steward.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, IT, and business teams to resolve data-related issues and ensure data integrity.
  • Define and document business rules for data validation and transformation within their domain.
  • Support data governance tools, metadata management, and cataloging efforts in alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Provide training and support to operational data stewards and data users on data governance practices and tools.
  • Promote data literacy and best practices within their business unit.
  • Work with the Enterprise Data Steward to ensure alignment with the overall data governance framework.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among operational data stewards within their domain to ensure consistent data governance practices.
  • Coordinate with data owners and data custodians to establish data ownership and accountability within the business unit.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries and business glossaries within IT domains.
  • Conduct regular data quality assessments and audits within their domain.
  • Identify and document data issues and work towards resolution with relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of IT reporting dashboards and data visualization tools.
  • Manage and mentor a team of quality and reporting analysts, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in reporting processes.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop training materials and documentation for reporting best practices.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Overall 7+ years of IT experience. 5+ years in data governance, data quality, or data management.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT reporting, data analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Strong experience working with data catalogs, metadata, and governance tools.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to enforce data quality policies and standards.
  • Proficiency in data governance tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data governance policies and procedures.
  • Experience with data lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations applicable to their domain.
  • Experience in conducting data quality assessments and audits.
  • Experience with data integration and data migration projects.
  • Proficiency in one reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL-based reporting solutions.

  • Strong bias for action and ability to deliver results despite a complex and fluid environment.
  • Cultural bias towards continual learning and sharing best practices.
  • Experience in a federated data governance model.
  • Certification in data governance or data quality (e.g., DAMA CDMP, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of industry-specific data standards and regulations.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.

 

 

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

The range for this position is $121,939.00 - $167,667.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
