The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Scope of the Position
Our Corporate Information Security (CIS) team is looking for a highly motivated intern to assist with advancing automation initiatives by contributing to AI-focused projects. In this role, you will play a key part in the development, implementation, and testing of agentic AI systems aimed at improving automation and operational efficiency. This internship offers an opportunity to gain experience with AI technologies in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and optimization of algorithms for agentic AI systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect, preprocess, and analyze datasets for training AI models.
- Performance testing of AI models.
- Support the integration of AI systems into existing workflows and technologies within the organization.
- Document the development process, including technical reports, presentations, and project updates.
- Assist in troubleshooting and debugging AI models, ensuring reliability and accuracy.
Education & Experience
- Enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer programming or related program
- Relevant Coursework: Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Structures, Cybersecurity, LLMs, Programming, data science
- Relevant experience a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Python
- Experience with TensorFlow
- Experience with PyTorch
- Experience with SciKit-learn
- Experience with Script debugging
- Experience with API configuration
- Experience with Git
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
- Be willing to work at the posted job location

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
