This position is part of a cross- functional engineering team supporting inkjet printing. This team has projects ranging from early-stage research to pilot manufacturing, and constantly works to improve process capabilities.

 

Role Description:

The candidate will oversee the operation of an inkjet laboratory and serve as a subject matter expert for inkjet technologies. They will also develop inkjet printing solutions to meet the needs of current and future customers and transfer them into manufacturing. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working in both the lab and manufacturing settings, driving inkjet related solutions where they are required.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Work on project teams as a technical expert on inkjet printing

• Support inkjet technology development/implementation for Corning business divisions.

• Improve current processes using the scientific method

• Manage the inkjet lab operations, including equipment, materials, maintenance, and troubleshooting

• Direct activities of lab technicians

• Communicate technical information to a variety of audiences

 

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a science, technology, or digital art field

• 3+ years’ experience with inkjet printing technology

• Software proficiencies:

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Photoshop

 

Required Skills:

• Engineering & design background

• Ability to lead design projects

• Hands on equipment skills to troubleshoot problems

• Communication skills, both written and oral

 

Desired Skills:

• Experience in the stages of innovation, transferring technology and processes from development to production

• Experience in a research lab environment

• Experience with glass, ceramic substrates

 

Soft Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Technical curiosity

• Ability to work in a multicultural team environment
