Role Purpose:

Corning Incorporated is seeking a motivated Insider Risk Intern to support Corning Global Security in advancing our Insider Risk Program. The selected candidate will work closely with the Insider Risk team to assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating Gpotential insider threats, while promoting a culture of security and trust across the organization.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to risk analysis, process improvements, and awareness initiatives. The internship is structured to provide hands-on learning and development, culminating in a presentation to leadership summarizing key accomplishments and contributions.

This internship is part of Corning’s broader Intern Program, designed to cultivate a strong pipeline of talent for future entry-level roles. Candidates must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university and meet the required academic and skill qualifications outlined below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Insider Risk team and other stakeholders on daily tasks and projects.
  • Assist in monitoring and analyzing data to identify potential insider risk indicators.
  • Support development and implementation of insider risk policies, processes, and awareness campaigns.
  • Participate in risk assessments and help create mitigation strategies for identified threats.
  • Contribute to reporting and documentation for program metrics and compliance requirements.
  • Research emerging trends and best practices in insider risk management and recommend improvements.
  • Gain hands-on experience with tools and systems used for insider risk detection and analysis.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Risk Management, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May–August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Interest in working for Corning Incorporated after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Willingness to work at the posted job location.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse teams.
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with ITAR or otherwise federally regulated materials
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information

  • Curiosity and a love for solving complex problems
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Attention to detail and reliability in task execution
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
