Role Purpose

Corning is seeking an Architecture / Engineering Intern to support planning activities for a large-scale building renovation master plan at Sullivan Park. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to architectural planning, space analysis, documentation, and project coordination in support of renovation strategies across building layouts, existing conditions, facility needs, and related infrastructure considerations.

The Architecture / Engineering Intern will work closely with internal stakeholders and external technical partners to support planning, documentation, and evaluation activities tied to a major building renovation effort. While the role is optimized for architecture-focused internship work, Corning welcomes candidates from engineering disciplines with strong interest in building renovation, facility planning, and design support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support planning activities related to a large-scale building renovation master plan
• Assist with architectural planning, space analysis, building layout review, and documentation of existing conditions
• Help prepare drawings, presentations, reports, and other project documentation for planning reviews and stakeholder discussions
• Participate in site walkdowns and facility assessments to document building conditions, renovation needs, and space opportunities
• Support collection, organization, and review of building, infrastructure, and space data to inform renovation planning
• Assist in evaluating conceptual renovation options with consideration for functionality, adjacencies, building use, and infrastructure constraints
• Support coordination with internal teams and external architecture, engineering, and construction partners
• Assist in tracking project actions, timelines, and deliverables to support overall plan execution
• Develop, update, and maintain organized project files, documentation, and planning records
• Perform all other duties as assigned
  
  

Experiences/Education - Required

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Coursework, studio work, or academic focus related to architecture, building systems, renovation, facilities planning, or design

Desired Experience and Skills

• Internship, studio, project, or coursework experience related to architecture, building renovation, facilities planning, or design
• Familiarity with reading drawings, floor plans, and technical documents
• Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design and documentation tools
• Interest in working on cross-functional capital or facility planning projects
• Exposure to architecture, engineering, construction, or facility project environments

• The role may require work in office, field, and active facility environments
• Limited travel may be required based on project needs
• Work schedule will align with the needs of the internship assignment and site requirements
