Position Summary: The Occupancy Planner Intern will become part of a team that is responsible for occupancy data analysis, reporting, interpretation of occupancy metrics to provide recommendations and proposed solutions for a client's occupancy needs. Also, coordination of moves for multiple simultaneous commercial space strategy projects for Corning Incorporated with the focus on coordinating individual and project moves for personnel in the Corning Valley at varying stages of planning and implementation. Additional responsibilities include the planning and design of workspaces. The ideal candidate for this position has exemplary planning and time management skills and can organize data and manage calendars, keeping scheduling operations running smoothly and efficiently. This individual will also be instrumental in coordinating with Corning’s furniture vendor, moving vendor, and other service personnel required for move planning and implementation. The Occupancy Planner Intern will collaborate with Occupancy Planners and internal business partners from IT, Capital Projects, and Facilities.

 

Key Functions:

  • Ability to work with Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) software and ServiceNow for moves management.
  • Ability to conceptualize, assess, evaluate, communicate, collaborate, provide customer focused solutions, delegate when necessary, provide situational awareness/project confidentiality, and personal quality management.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Learn to identify, implement, and monitor process enhancements for improved effectiveness of organizational resources
  • Grow to analyze and interpret space allocation, utilization, projections, and other space-related information for both present and future needs
  • Assist with special projects, attend project review meetings and liaison with other WPS business groups as wells as Corning preferred vendors to execute project tasks.
  • Develop CAD layouts, space modification drawings, and furniture layouts for Mover Adds and Change (MAC) activity or projects.

 

Required Experience and Education – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Enrolled in Interior Design program at an accredited college or university. Preference for rising Junior or Senior.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (ServiceNow, IWMS a plus)
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities; able to work under time deadlines
  • Self-starter comfortable to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Work on multiple projects at once of varying scopes
  • Presentation building/presenting skills
