The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. Role Purpose
The optimization of supply and supply inventories, the definition and implementation of standard methodologies with respect to the same and execution of key programs in Operations Planning, Operations Improvement, and Cost Reduction. Immediate responsibilities will include:
- Supply Planning – Responsibilities include implementation of negotiated supply contracts, modeling and management of short and long range supply and supply inventories to Division targets (as SOP plans are updated), coordination of supplier stocking and shipment schedules to plan, aligning with the Production Planning function to ensure a minimized net cash plan, and defining and implementing standard methodology planning methods, processes and tools to lower costs.
- Inventory Management – Responsibilities include the definition of optimal stock levels, defining and implementing standard methodology inventory control methods (i.e. cycle counting, consignment, supplier held safety stocks etc.) and tools (MRP etc.), and the minimization of obsolete inventories, all per Division targets.
- Special projects may arise around the planning efforts. This may include, but is not limited to: value-stream mapping of planning and inventory management process, planning system enhancements including the building of a robust raw material planner and inventory data system and to solve for financial variables such as net cash; implementation of machine learning into planning systems; implementation of decision-making workflows and automation to reduce human administrative time.
- Focus on to-be-defined, strategic supply while coordinating the supply activities with the Plants for the balance.
Key Accountabilities
- Material Planning:
- Accurate Demand Forecasting: Ensure accurate forecasting of material needs based on updated SOP plans, market trends, and production schedules to meet customer demand without overstocking or stockouts.
- Supply Assurance: Develop and maintain optimal inventory levels by defining and implementing effective inventory control methods such as MRP, cycle counting, and safety stock management to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Scope:
- Directly manage all strategic materials including Lithium
- Take the lead of Non-Strategic materials, accountable of supply assurance, planning is managed by the procurement teams on the site.
- Inventory Management Efficiency:
- Define should-be stock levels and take the lead to work with cross-functional team to implement best practice inventory control methods (e.g., cycle counting, consignment, supplier-held safety stocks).
- Utilize tools such as MRP to manage inventory levels effectively and ensure supply assurance.
- Minimize obsolete inventories in accordance with Division targets.
- Scope: The inventory management is not limited to raw materials only, but also covers all non-glass inventories, such as MRO, Packaging, etc. at each Gorilla manufacturing facilities.
- Project Management, System Enhancement and Strategic Supply Coordination:
- Focus on strategic supply initiatives while ensuring coordination of supply activities with plant operations.
- Align supply activities with overall strategic goals of the Division.
- Lead special projects related to planning efforts, such as value-stream mapping and planning system enhancements.
- Develop and implement a robust raw material planner and inventory data system.
- Incorporate machine learning and automation into planning systems to improve efficiency and reduce administrative time.
- Process Improvement
Experiences/Education - Required
- We require a bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or technical field is required. An MBA or supply chain certifications (i.e. CSCP) are preferred.
- We are seeking at least 5 years of progressive, global supply management experience.
- Approach problem-solving in an organized, process-oriented manner with systematic thinking and logic
- Lead business relationships using combination of data driven analysis, critical thinking, networking and strong presentation skills
- Work independently, deftly and effectively in a dynamic working environment.
- Strong analytical/digital literacy with the ability to turn quantitative analysis into significant business insights
- Lead multi-disciplined, global teams
- Big picture thinking with the forethought to see how decisions will impact other areas of the enterprise
- We anticipate up to 25% of time both within US and internationally.

The range for this position is $82,390.00 - $113,287.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
