The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Role Purpose:

The Lead, Project Logistics will provide strategic and tactical logistics support for capital projects involving high-value domestic and international shipments of capital equipment. Oversee activities related to export packing, international forwarding, and transportation to ensure the safe and timely delivery of equipment while complying with applicable laws. Drive cost savings by optimizing logistics processes and collaborating with global stakeholders. Support system upgrades, process mapping, and tool development to improve Project Logistics Group (PLG) operations.

 

As a technical leader, manage equipment control and delivery processes, including tracking, documentation preparation, and transportation arrangements. Optimize shipping lanes, routing, and logistics to reduce costs and streamline operations for capital projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

- Protect intellectual assets (IA) and intellectual property (IP). 

- Manage PLG coordinators to ensure project objectives are met, including schedule, budget, and cost savings goals. 

- Provide support for PLG trade compliance initiatives. 

- Oversee inventory and control processes for capital equipment at export packing locations. 

- Review project rebuild schedules and ensure shipment priorities are aligned with project goals. 

- Facilitate collaboration between area coordinators to improve efficiency and reduce costs. 

- Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities by improving systems and processes. 

- Assist PLG management with process implementation and future system integration. 

- Manage forwarder rate data and maintain approval systems for project-related data. 

- Oversee bidding and quote processes for PLG project shipments. 

- Facilitate long-term bidding for PLG shipping lanes. 

- Support cost savings programs and processes aligned with business objectives. 

- Track spend data for key projects and maintain KPIs assigned by the PLG Manager. 

- Utilize Power BI and Excel for data tracking and reporting.

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field (preferred). 

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or project management roles. 

- Knowledge of global logistics processes, including export packing, international forwarding, compliance laws, and transportation strategies. 

- Ability to optimize logistics processes to achieve cost savings and improve efficiency. 

 

Desired Skills:

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI. 

- Familiarity with logistics systems and tools related to project management (e.g., SAP, ERP systems). 

- Strong analytical and organizational skills for tracking project spend, KPIs, and logistics data. 

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with global stakeholders effectively.

The range for this position is $68,219.00 - $93,802.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
