Role Purpose
Reporting to the Litigation Director, this role is responsible for supporting the administration of Corning’s Legal Hold program by ensuring timely, accurate, and defensible preservation activities throughout the litigation lifecycle. The role coordinates day-to-day legal hold operations, exercises sound judgment in resolving routine matters, and recognizes when issues require escalation to Corning’s Litigation Director. Partners with attorneys, Human Resources, Information Technology, Records Management, and other business stakeholders to support compliance, improve operational efficiency, strengthen audit readiness, and support defensible legal hold processes through standardization and technology-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end legal hold process, including creating, issuing, tracking, updating, and releasing legal holds in accordance with established procedures
- Manage the Legal Hold inbox, ensuring timely responses, appropriate prioritization, and accurate resolution of inquiries from attorneys, custodians, HR, IT, Records Management, and business stakeholders
- Maintain accurate legal hold records, documentation, and audit trails to support defensible preservation practices and regulatory or litigation requirements
- Coordinate preservation-related administrative activities with internal stakeholders while ensuring requests are completed accurately and within established service levels
- Perform periodic quality assurance reviews and process audits of legal hold activities, including preservation requests, acknowledgements, releases, and related workflows, identifying discrepancies and driving corrective actions
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve legal hold templates, standard communications, practice-level guidance, standard operating procedures (SOPs), external FAQs, and knowledge management resources.
- Identify and support process improvements that simplify administration, reduce manual effort, improve user experience, and increase operational efficiency
- Leverage Microsoft 365, AI-enabled capabilities, and workflow automation technologies to improve legal hold administration, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
- Build collaborative relationships with Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Records Management, Privacy, and other teams to ensure effective coordination of legal hold activities.
- Resolve routine operational issues while exercising sound judgment to identify exceptions, elevated legal risk, or unusual circumstances requiring escalation to Corning’s Litigation Director
- Provide support on other legal specialist activities, documentation, research, tracking, and tasks as assigned.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Information Systems, Information Governance, Records Management, Criminal Justice, or related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience, including litigation support, compliance/governance, legal operations, records management, or similar experience
- Strong organizational, project coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet competing deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and produce accurate, high-quality work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and interact professionally with cross-functional partners across all organizational levels.
- Adaptability and aptitude for learning new technologies, business processes, and evolving legal requirements, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to leverage AI, workflow automation, and digital productivity tools to improve business processes.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- 2+ years administering legal holds.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or information governance technologies, including support for legal documentation, records, compliance, litigation-related administrative processes, templates, standard work, FAQs, or other operational guidance materials.

The range for this position is $71,926.00 - $98,899.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
