The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.
Role Purpose
The Manager, Advanced Optics is responsible for the execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) procurement strategies to source quality products, equipment, and services in alignment with business objectives and strategies. Accountable for defining, deploying, and maintaining best-in-class procurement processes to support supply assurance, minimize inventories, optimize total cost of ownership, and improve source-to-pay efficiency. This role leverages and optimizes global GSM resources and services to deliver business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop procurement operations team resources, ensuring professional growth and development.
- Deliver GSM global objectives in alignment with business objectives and strategies.
- Support organizational strategy by identifying key resource needs for areas of responsibility.
- Facilitate process delivery and change management needs between division and corporate GSM functions.
- Champion, advocate for, and ensure compliance with the Global Buying Policy (GBP), utilizing standard Global Supply Management (GSM) source-to-pay (S2P) processes and tools; ensure adherence to internal and external auditing requirements.
- Develop annual cost reduction plans and long-term strategies, integrating these with the GSM Savings Tracker and business cost reduction portfolio processes. Align long-term strategies with cross-functional partners to drive process improvements, cost reduction, and supply chain optimization.
- Promote and encourage appropriate utilization of buying channels and procurement tools (p-cards, e-catalogs, requisitions, purchase orders, e-auctions, etc.).
- Lead and/or support supplier negotiations and supplier relationship management (SRM).
- Manage suppliers, consultants, and other external resources, interfacing with relevant departments/functions to ensure delivery of quality materials, components, equipment, and services while optimizing supply and cost scenarios.
- Own and/or support the Supplier Relationship Management Process (including supplier audits) for respective areas.
- Protect Intellectual Property (IP) and proprietary information.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external auditing requirements related to procurement (as applicable).
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain operations and/or related field, demonstrating a proven track record of results.
- Strong leadership qualities, including experience managing people and leading strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Project management experience with a focus on procurement or supply chain initiatives.
- Solid understanding of Source-to-Pay processes and enterprise procurement systems.
- Proficiency in should-cost analysis for supplier negotiations and cost optimization.
- Experience working across multiple business units, divisions, and/or technologies.
- Familiarity with global manufacturing and business operations through direct work or project experience.
- Professional certifications such as ISM (Certified Professional in Supply Management, CPSM, Certified Purchasing Manager - C.P.M., Accredited Purchasing Practitioner - A.P.P.) or APICS (Certified in Production and Inventory Management - CPIM, Certified Supply Chain Professional - CSCP).

The range for this position is $131,938.00 - $181,415.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
