The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Role Purpose: 

 

Develop and execute global logistics strategies and lead activities to manage freight, duty, warehousing, distribution, trade compliance and all associated elements of quality, cost, delivery to meet division business needs.   Aligns to division manufacturing, customer service and supply chain strategies, objectives, and reporting for process performance and improvement.   

Supports each plant in the management of all logistics functions and 3rd party service providers to deliver optimal cost, business value and results.  Works closely with Global Supply Management organization and other Corporate functions for resource allocation, support and governance of 3rd party services, contracts, rates and performance.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Logistics Operations Management: Lead day-to-day logistics operations, including freight management, warehousing, and trade compliance to ensure seamless movement of goods. 

Budget Optimization: Manage logistics budgets and track expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality. 

Vendor and Third-Party Management: Partner with third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts, improve performance, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).   

Process Improvement: Analyze current logistics processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to improve cost, quality, and delivery. 

Reporting and Metrics: Establish and maintain KPIs to monitor logistics performance, track savings initiatives, and report results to leadership. 

Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to trade compliance regulations and supply chain security protocols, working closely with internal and external resources. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, customer service, and supply chain teams to align logistics strategies with business needs. 

Technology Utilization: Use logistics systems and tools to streamline operations, track shipments, and create visibility across the supply chain. 

 

Experiences/Education:   

Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Technical, Business, Logitistics or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics operations (such as freight management, warehousing and/or trade compliance)
  • Ability to manage budgets and optimize costs. 

 

Desired 

  • Ability to establish and track KPIs for logisitic performance.
  • Global Logisitics: Understanding of internationship shipments and global supply chain processes.
  • Familiarity with logistic software and systems for reporting and tracking.
  • Certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, CLTD or Six Sigma/Lean Certifications are a plus. 
  • Master’s Degree is an advantage. 

 

Travel

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%, including domestic and limited international trips.
  • This position can be based in Corning, NY (HQ) or Fairport, NY.

The range for this position is $80,262.00 - $110,360.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
