Role Purpose

Seeking a dynamic and experienced communications manager to lead the planning and implementation of strategic executive and internal communications for Corning’s Display Market Access Platform. This role is crucial in shaping our employee communications to deliver consistent, clear, and candid leadership messaging around Display’s strategy and performance. The ideal candidate will be adept at contributing to financial communications, developing executive speeches and presentations, and writing and editing while effectively managing a global team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Display leaders to develop impactful communications and enhance employee engagement through transparent, timely content.  
  • Develops executive communications to articulate Display objectives and performance, while inspiring employees to align their own plans and actions with those of the business. 
  • Writes, edits, and supports a wide range of internal communications including leadership messages, Q&A’s, talking points, video scripts, presentations, articles, etc., to drive understanding of Display’s news, priorities, and performance.
  • Delivers the internal communications strategy and messaging plan; refines as needed based on evolving business, cultural, and employee dynamics.
  • Fosters transparent, candid communications at all levels through writing clear, concise messaging from Display leaders.  
  • Equips and properly activates top Display leaders to serve as internal spokespeople to cascade news and information to employees; plans and hosts leadership meetings with support from global colleagues.  
  • Leads the strategy and execution of a bi-annual division-level survey to understand employee engagement and preference around content themes, channels, platforms, cadence, etc.  
  • Leverages quantitative and qualitative feedback to continually improve internal content strategies and ensure alignment with Display’s evolving business needs. 
  • Travel:  Less than 10% of time both within U.S. and internationally

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience with proven success
  • Corporate and/or business/marketing communications
  • Prior experience and proven track record of delivery on internal communications campaigns
  • Execution of major campaigns or events such as communications meetings, customer visits, etc.
  • History of managing across all levels of the organization
  • Prior work building relationships with agencies and vendors
  • Strong writing and editing skills. 
  • Proven ability to translate technical language into impactful presentations or other executive communications. 
  • Innate curiosity to learn and understand the Display industry, customers, and value chain, with a passion for continuous learning. 
  • Demonstrates mental agility and adaptability in challenging, fast-paced, or even ambiguous projects.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion using influencing tools 
  • Ability to lead international teams across multiple initiatives that span various lines of business, geographic borders, time zones, and cultures
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others

Desired Experience

  • Design experience or exposure to the Adobe Suite
  • Working knowledge and willingness to learn intranet platforms, SharePoint 
  • Graduate-level education in related field

The range for this position is $101,839.00 - $140,029.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
