Finance Manager – Global Training, NA/EMEA

Role Purpose:

 

Develop a training plan that supports the Corning Talent Assessment Plan (7S Talent Assessment) and builds a curriculum that develops functional skills needed for current and future growth.

This role will be tightly linked to talent management initiatives to grow employees’ skill sets in leadership, technical and analytic skills, and career management.

Co-manage global training program for the Finance function, including platforms and offerings.

Serve as a consultant on financial processes, accounting policy, control procedures, system use, and sharing of best practices.

Support key finance projects impacting individual businesses or the entire function, specifically with regard to training and change management. Support development of financial acumen in our finance business partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize finance training execution to support current needs as well as building skills for the future, in support of Finance Priorities

• Define curriculums needed to support identified finance competencies, utilizing SMEs, internal content, LinkedIn Learning, and other as needed

• Curate or create content to support defined curriculums

• Identify and develop appropriate learning tools & platforms to support strategy goals

• Help manage the various platforms & sites utilized by Finance training, including but not limited to:

  • the Finance Training intranet site & Resource Library, multiple SharePoint sites, BOX folders, and the Finance Learning Hub (BlueLine workspace)

 • Manage Finance specific content in TBL - add new content as needed, refresh or retire existing content as needed

• Manage annual Finance training calendar for NA/EMEA: what, when, where, who, how for all Finance specific offerings - coordinating training efforts globally, across all groups within Finance (Divisions, CSS, Tax, TR, etc.)

• Develop and deliver specific training/content as needed (webinars and classroom)

• Partner or consult with internal personnel and outside vendor representatives at various management levels

• Provide leadership on key functional projects - serve on project teams as training consultant/advisor or as member of project Change Management team

• Coordinate training schedules across multiple projects, to avoid conflicts and manage impact to end users

• Serve as consultant/advisor on Finance training developed for non-Finance business partners, for WD&L as well as other Finance employees

• Develop and deliver or facilitate Corning specific 'Finance for non-Finance' training, on request

• Accomplish results through external partnerships or through experienced employees who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments

 

Required Education:

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent technical degree

• CPA or MBA in Accounting, Economics, or Finance preferred

 

Required minimum 7 Years of work experience Technical Skills:

• Strong computer skills; proficiency in Excel / PowerPoint required

• PeopleSoft and/or SAP experience desired

• Cost/manufacturing accounting experience desired

• Training design/delivery experience desired
