The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

Role Purpose

The Manager, Global Mobility is responsible for managing all aspects of mobility related assignments – such as domestic relocations, international employee assignments, remote work, commuting, etc.. Responsibilities include: expatriate tax compliance, policy development, and mobility related operations. This role ensures the organization's global workforce can be mobilized as efficiently and effectively as possible to serve the broader organization’s strategic and tactical needs and works with Corning legal and other key stakeholders to ensure that the company meets local and/or dual jurisdiction immigration, labor law and tax requirements as it moves and accesses talent globally. The position provides program and policy design, operations and consultation and is an internal subject matter expert and consultant to businesses and employees in all areas of talent mobility. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, implement, and manage global and local mobility policies, procedures, and frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment of mobility programs with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Oversee relocation processes for employees moving domestically or internationally, on a permanent or temporary basis.
  • Work with legal (Immigration Manager) and human resources business partners, tax advisors and other vendors to ensure compliance with immigration laws, visa requirements, work authorization processes and local labor law compliance in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate with legal and immigration experts to process visas and strategize, plan for and resolve immigration issues.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors (e.g., relocation companies, tax advisors, immigration consultants).
  • Partner and collaborate with Corning’s Global Supply Management (“GSM”) organization to negotiate vendor contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Act as a primary consultant to business leaders and human resources business partners in the assignment planning stage, especially for projects and group moves.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on global mobility policies, tax implications, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of international assignments, including pre-assignment planning, relocation, and repatriation.

 

 

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Successful track record of performance in a center of excellence or comparable role
  • Work experience supporting multiple client groups
  • Successful track record in the development & deployment of HR processes or programs
  • Successful track record in partnering with external providers / vendor management
  • Successful track record of continuous process/product improvement using defined methodology
  • Proven needs assessment and gap analysis skills
  • Global Mobility experience
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in global mobility, expatriate tax, or international assignment management.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Prior experience in a Big Four/public accounting firm or multinational corporate environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced setting
  • International experience or language proficiency a plus.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Focuses on delivering a positive, solution-oriented experience for employees and the business.

The range for this position is $149,157.00 - $205,091.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
