Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • You will advise and architect manufacturing data systems integrating to industrial automation using a mix of traditional and emerging technology to build unique solutions.
  • You will guide a dynamic team that directly contributes and influences the ultimate business outcomes.
  • You will use your deep automation skills and enterprise solutions experience to design and build solutions on top of a deep technological stack. This requires focus from the initial development of physical to digital signal (sensor) networks up through IIoT systems and the digital to physical return of those signals to change our way of operating. We work with a wide variety of market access platforms, often in a factory / plant environment, where you will be exposed to an even wider variety of processes and technologies.

 

Travel Requirements: Estimate travel at 10% - 50% depending upon specific project assignment. Domestic and International.

 

Required Education and Years of Experience: 

  • We require a B.S in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines. M.S. is preferred. 
  • 7+ years of experience in automation and enterprise solutions with extended knowledge of core manufacturing processes, plant floor equipment, and operations

 

Required Skills: 

  • Significant project experience (5+) and capability defining and integrating a manufacturing data architectures: PLCs, SCADAs, Process Historians (real-time database), MES, ERP, PLM, QMS, CMMS
  • Knowledge in Industrial sensor selection and specification, industrial network communication protocols (Ethernet, RS232/485, Ethernet IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Modbus, BACnet, and Profibus), and industrial application layer protocols (OPC-UA/DA, MQTT, et al) 
  • Proficient in designing highly flexible database architectures, data modeling, data mining, data mapping, table normalization, optimizing and tuning 
  • Strong technical curiosity, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, team building, and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to articulate the benefit and structure of solutions

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in various database types, such as relational, NoSQL, cloud, distributed, and graph
  • Knowledgeable in software techniques and principles (Modulatory, Abstraction, etc.) with proficiency in at least one common language, preferably Python, .NET, or JAVA 
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and techniques, such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning
  • Familiarity with AWS platform services including AWS S3 & EC2, Data Migration Services (DMS), RDS, EMR, RedShift, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Terraform (and/or CloudFormation)
