Purpose of the Position:

The Manufacturing Operations Project Manager is responsible for leading structured, cross-functional efforts to solve complex manufacturing problems across ceram glass manufacturing operations. This role focuses on diagnosing root causes, developing and implementing technical solutions, and transferring proven and new processes, equipment, and technologies across multiple sites. In addition, this role is also expected to support manufacturing projects from concept and pilot phases through full-scale deployment, ensuring successful adoption, operational readiness, and sustained performance. The position combines exceptional project management discipline, strong stakeholder coordination, together with deep manufacturing problem-solving capability to drive results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Problem Solving & Execution:

  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives to address chronic manufacturing issues related to quality, yield, throughput, uptime, energy consumption, and safety.
  • Apply data-driven root cause analysis methods (e.g., DMAIC, FMEA, MEE, SPC) to identify, prioritize, and resolve manufacturing problems.
  • Translate problem statements into clearly scoped projects with defined objectives, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Drive rapid containment actions and long-term corrective solutions.

Project Management & Execution:

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing line rebuild POR activities, including coordination with SCM planning and division engineering rebuild team to establish rebuild schedules, scope definition, scheduling & capital budgeting.
  • Manage governance and coordinate activities for updating business continuity plans for all Victoria operations manufacturing sites.

Technology Development & Manufacturing Scale-Up:

  • Manage technology readiness progression for new processes and equipment from concept, lab, or pilot scale to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Serve as primary interface between technology development teams, manufacturing sites, and external partners.
  • Partner with R&D, Engineering, and Operations to ensure manufacturability and scalability of new technologies.
  • Coordinate trials, pilot runs, sample production and validation activities to ensure technical and operational viability.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, cost, and operational risks associated with new technology deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote safe execution of trials, equipment installation, and commissioning activities.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or related field
  • PMP certification (or strong project management background).
  • 8+ years of experience leading manufacturing technology, process, or capital projects, preferably in glass or continuous-process industries.
  • Demonstrated success of leading multi-national, cross-functional teams to resolve chronic or high-impact manufacturing issues.
  • Proven experience of scaling new technologies and transferring processes to multiple manufacturing sites
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage problem-solving efforts as structured projects.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience living, studying, working and/or extended traveling outside of home country or dealing with foreigners is a plus.
  • Working experience in multi-national corporations and cross-functional teams is a plus.

US Salaried:
The range for this position is $116,625.00 - $160,360.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. 

US Union Free Hourly:
The range for this position is ​$116,625.00 hourly rate - $145,781.00 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. 

US Union Hourly:
The starting pay for this position is ​$116,625.00 hourly rate.  Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

US Intern:
​The range for this position is $116,625.00 - $160,360.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
