Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Role Purpose

This role provides critical market insight and demand forecasting for Corning Environmental Technologies’ global light‑duty automotive emissions business. Embedded within the Strategy and Market Intelligence team, you will develop and maintain quantitative forecasting models and translate complex market data into clear, actionable insights for manufacturing operations and senior business leaders. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability paired with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

 

Market Forecasting & Analytics

  • Develop and manage quantitative demand models (top-down and bottoms-up) to translate global light‑duty automotive market dynamics into short‑ and long‑term demand for CET substrate products.
  • Analyze supply chain and inventory trends to support operational and strategic planning.

 

 

Market Intelligence & Long‑Range Outlook

  • Lead the annual platform tracking process and long‑term market outlook to support division planning cycles, including collecting bottom‑up inputs, validating data against third‑party sources, and aligning with account teams and product line management.
  • Extend market insights to develop long‑range outlooks that inform CET’s future strategy and investment decisions.

 

Strategic & Executive Support

  • Provide analytical support for executive communications and strategic reviews, including long‑range planning and business performance discussions.
  • Partner with the Competitive Intelligence team to reconcile market share actuals and outlooks and lead targeted analysis projects as needed.

 

Data, Vendors & External Engagement

    • Manage third‑party data vendors and consultants to build a comprehensive, high‑quality market data foundation.
    • Conduct market exchange meetings with key industry contacts and strategic customers (e.g., OEMs, catalyzer manufacturers) to enhance market understanding and validate insights.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, scientific, engineering, or business discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive, industrial, or advanced manufacturing environments in market intelligence, strategy, analytics, operations, or business development
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize large, complex data sets into clear, actionable insights
  • Demonstrated understanding of B2B technology markets and value chains through to the end customer
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex analyses clearly and effectively to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization across functions, time zones, and cultures

Experiences/Education - Desired

 

  • MBA or Master’s degree
  • Project management experience with a strong problem‑solving mindset
  • Experience with SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), SAP, or other ERP / planning systems, or a demonstrated willingness and ability to learn these tools

 

Travel:

  • Less than 10% travel, domestic & international

The range for this position is $97,314.00 - $133,808.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
